Reharmonisation: Cory Henry playing Amazing Grace

Below is a version of the well known hymn "Amazing Grace".

We can hear that the chords are very basic, and that the harmony is typical of that of hymns sung in traditional and liturgical churches throughout the world.

Compare it to this version however, by musician Cory Henry:

We can immediately hear that the song is different.  There are elements of jazz, gospel and classical music in there.  The chords are changed, though the melody remains largely the same.  While not as an extensive reharmonisation of the Dirty Loops example posted earlier, it shows that not every reharmonisation has to be extreme in order to be effective.  By listening to this and transcribing parts of it, I was able to reharmonise the hymn into a basic form myself: the reharmonised chord chart, and a recording of the work in action will be posted later on.
